Web Design FAQs

* What platform(s) do you design websites and blog on?

I only design sites and blogs on WordPress (self-hosted).

* I’m not on WordPress right now but I want to be. Can you help me switch from Blogger or TypePad (or other platform?)

I sure can! I can migrate your content and website (with comments) to WordPress and then design it. And no worries. I’ll train you on how to use WordPress and manage your site after I’m done designing, so it won’t be intimidating to you.

* Can I have the same theme I had in Blogger on WordPress?

No, you cannot. This is because Blogger and WordPress use different technologies. Blogger uses HTML and WordPress uses PHP and CSS. It CAN be done but you’d need someone to code (from scratch) your Blogger theme into a WordPress-compatible site and that is expensive (like htousands). It’s kind of like wanting to put a square peg into a circle. It can be done IF you sit there and file it into that shape.

* How long does it take you to design websites? What’s the timeline?

Once payment is received, and work starts on your site, it will take between 3 – 8 weeks. It varies because some sites require more work, features and time. Also, how quick you get revisions you’d like made to me make a difference. Having a firm deadline helps a lot.

* What payment terms do you require?

I require a 50% down payment to begin work on your site. The balance is due once work is complete.

* Do you accept rush jobs?

Very rarely. I cannot complete a well-designed site in 2 weeks, unless I put aside all my other work, which I’m not willing to do. Really fast, really good, decent priced. Pick 2.

* How much do you charge for websites?

My website designs start at $600 and go up based on featured needed and other services clients want me to do in addition to design (like ad integration, SEO optimization, content migration).

* Do you work on weekends?

Very rarely. Please know that any email sent to me after 5pm on Friday might not get a response until Monday morning. It allows me to regroup.
